An undergraduate education at the University of Saint Katherine positions students for successful applications to graduate schools across the country. USK also offers streamlined options for students who want to pursue graduate opportunities in certain fields.
Health Care Professions
USK students and alumni with a degree in Kinesiology or Natural Science are automatically eligible to enroll in USK’s Master of Science in Kinesiology provided they achieved a GPA of 3.0 and remained in good standing. USK students with lower GPAs or with degrees in other fields may be eligible provided they meet other requirements. Further, USK has an agreement with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) that grants qualified students a provisional early acceptance to LECOM’s School of Pharmacy, School of Dental Medicine or College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Business and Public Service
USK students and alumni are automatically eligible to enroll in USK’s Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership program provided they achieved a GPA of 3.0 and remained in good standing. USK students with a 2.5 to 2.9 GPA may be eligible provided they meet other requirements.
Theology
USK offers a Master of Arts in Orthodox Christian Theology. Interested USK undergraduates and alumni in any degree program are encouraged to discuss the MAOCT program with its Co-Director Rev. Dn. David WIlliams, or Co-Director and University President, Dr. Frank Papatheofanis fpapath@usk.edu.
Teaching
USK graduates that meet the admissions criteria for either the one-year Teacher Credential Program (TCP) or the two-year Master of Arts, Teaching (MAT) at San Diego Christian College receive an institutional discount of $8,000 over the duration of either program. Arts & Humanities students will typically have fulfilled all course requirements and meet the other admissions criteria. The Teacher Credential Program allows graduates to teach in public schools in California. It also provides more than half the credits towards the MAT, which increases base salary and further expands the range of job opportunities in the education sector.
The University of Saint Katherine and the University of San Diego (USD) also have a partnership which allows USK students to enter into USD’s Master’s in Education and K-12 California Teaching Credential Program. Within 18-24 months, students can earn a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with options for Elementary, Secondary, and/or Special Education credentials. Students who pursue this pathway are better prepared to enter the classroom and benefit from higher salaries over the course of their careers compared to a one-year credential.
