Karen Mendoza

Professor Mendoza comes to USK with over 25 years of teaching experience. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from UCLA and worked in the environmental field for several years before pursuing a California Teaching Credential and then a Master’s Degree in Mathematics, specializing in secondary education from San Diego State University. She has taught all levels of Mathematics in both private and public institutions as well as developed curricula and consulted for programs targeting underachieving students. She teaches with a focus on constructive thought, conceptual understanding and communication.
