Peter Boukouzis, Assistant Professor of Business Management and Chair of the Business Management Department
Peter Boukouzis joined the University of Saint Katherine as Assistant Professor and Chair of the Business Department in August 2018. Previously, he spent 18 years on Wall Street as a mergers and acquisitions (M&A) investment banker in New York and Houston. Most recently, Pete was a Managing Director and Head of the U.S. Energy Mergers and Acquisitions Group at BMO Capital Markets (Bank of Montreal) where he led U.S. M&A activities in all subsectors of the energy industry, including exploration and production, oil field services, refining, utilities, and pipeline/transportation. Prior to joining BMO, Pete worked for Rothschild, Inc. and UBS focusing on M&A in energy, healthcare, media, manufacturing, and other industries. Prior to working as an investment banker, Pete was employed as a chemical engineer in the oil industry in Oklahoma, Montana, and California.
In addition to working as an independent consultant, Pete also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Legacy Endowment…The Community Foundation, a $13 million charitable foundation located in Fallbrook, California. Pete currently sits on the advisory board of the Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in San Diego. He previously served on the board of directors of the Annunciation Orthodox School in Houston, Texas, the Africa School Assistance Project (a nonprofit that builds schools in rural Tanzania) in Denver, Colorado, and the Telluride Volleyball Club in Telluride, Colorado.
Pete has a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in accounting, economics, and finance.
Pete and his wife Dee live in Carlsbad, California, with their three daughters and two dogs.
Hon. Donald F. Armento, Ret., Assistant Professor of Business*
Commissioner Armento has served the legal community as an attorney and judicial officer with passion and dignity for over 30 years. After nearly ten years on the bench, he retired from San Diego Superior Court in January 2018 and is now available to serve as mediator, arbitrator and private judge. As a judge, he presided over a wide variety of civil and criminal matters, including real property, contract, personal injury, business and commercial actions. During his tenure on the bench, he was highly regarded for having a fair, balanced and pragmatic courtroom demeanor.
Prior to serving on the bench, Comm. Armento was very active as a trial attorney, representing parties in wrongful death, personal injury, real property, insurance, contract, and employment actions. He also was active in the San Diego community, serving as a coach, mentor, arbitrator, settlement officer and Judge Pro Tem.
He has extensive experience in dealing with veterans and veterans issues, having served in the Marine Corps Reserve for 28 years in various roles, including as a judge advocate. He is passionate about helping service members and veterans better understand the justice system.
While on the bench, Comm. Armento was appointed to several leadership positions with prominent statewide committees, including the Civil Litigation and Restraining Order committees. He has also been extensively involved with the American Inns of Court, having served as a Judicial Master with his Inn since 2009.
Commissioner Armento is passionate about helping parties resolve their disputes in an expeditious, professional, dignified manner, whenever possible.
